This trip to Southern Alberta was well worth it: cowgirl Marla and cowboy Cody tied the knot at one of the most beautiful wedding locations South of Calgary, the Gladstone Mountain Ranch near Pincher Creek, Alberta. An appropriately perfect ranchlike setting for a cowgirl and cowboy bride and groom’s wedding. This country wedding venue and retreat is an amazing piece of property…the Rocky Mountains, quaint cottages and a lake fill out the beautiful scenery. This grand Alberta gem will most surely knock you off your horses!
Guests spent the weekend at the resort to prepare for the wedding festivities. Guests were awakened to a golden morning light hitting the mountain range scene framed into their picture windows.
We started the day off with breakfast in the conference area then the wedding rituals began around noon. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day in mid September. Albeit there was snow on the ground from the early winter snowstorm that hit Alberta for about three days in early September. The wedding was a casual affair, cowboys and cowgirls in ranch attire with a country flavoured decor and the stunningly wild scenery as backdrop to round off the celebrations. The ceremony came off without a hitch, after a fun filled and tastily catered reception, guests headed out late into the night to the dance hall to feast on hot dogs and get warmed up around the fire pit.
The Gladstone Mountain Ranch is family owned and operated by the Hemphills who live on the property with their two children, horses, golden retriever and St. Bernard puppy. Check out the homestead these lucky folks now call home, the perfect place to begin and end to an unforgettable country wedding.
