First Time Ocean Fishing for a Young Fisherman (to be)

My young nephew gets his first taste of ocean fishing in the seas of the Atlantic…

What more could we have asked for? A bright sunny Florida day, expensive and bombastically beautiful boats and yachts waiting dockside for their absentee owners and A(men) fishermen. And yes we can’t forget the exotic fish yet to be caught…..

It was JJ ‘s first time ocean fishing on a sailboat. He was excited at his first outing. The deckhands gave him a go steering the boat. Uncle helped him set up his fishing rod and catch his first fish. We encountered a short storm while fishing and waited out the storm. As it turned out we did not catch much fish after that and he took a well needed nap until we got back to shore.

Fishing is fun…when you don’t get sick. Luckily we all managed to survive the dreaded sea sickness unscathed. Yes, we caught a few fish which we barbecued later, in famous Jamaican Escovitch style.

There’s something so captivating about the ocean….sea breezes, good company, exotic fish ….what’s not to love?

Here are a few pictures documenting his day.
